A big part of my current bullet journal set up, is adding a quote on each daily spread. I try to find quotes that sum up the day, or fit in with what I've been doing that day. So, I thought I would share a few of my favourites that I've used in my bullet journal so far!

*These photos are all my own, however, the quotes were found online, on various websites.

Haul!

So I've just got back from a shopping trip with my family, and I decided I would write a post to share with you my finds for the day!

The first thing I got was a bath bomb from lush, it's the blackberry bath bomb (photo credit lush). This bath bomb smells soo good!! Can't wait to put it in the bath and see how it looks & smells in the bath! This bath bomb cost £3.35.

The next place we went to was Primark! I got the Gabriella stationary set and pencils! The stationary set was £5, and the pencils were £1.50, which I think are really cheap, and I can't wait to get using these!! I also got the donut bed set, which comes with a duvet cover and a pillow case. This will look so good in my dorm room when I move to university next month!!!

We also took a trip to Miss Selfridge, where I got a v neck striped top, which cost £14. The sleeves are rolled at the ends to give a little more detail, and the back is a bit longer than the front of the top.
We also went to paperchase, where I had a little splurge! I bought the raindrops desk tidy, which was £9. All the parts come out so you could rearrange it, or use them all separately. I also bought the two pens, which cost £2.50 each, and look like really good quality! Paperchase also sell the refills for these pens. I also bought the postcard for 70p!! I've decided I'm going to put it in a frame for my dorm room, to decorate it a little!! I also bought another washi tape for £3, this one is a light pink with a pattern along it.

Ways To Use A Notebook

I always have notebooks lying around ready to be used, but never knowing how to use them. Buying a new notebook seems great at the time, but when you come to wanting to use it, normally you don't have a clue what to use it for. I hope my post gives you some inspiration on how to use your new and old notebooks.

Something I have quite recently discovered is bullet journalling. It's a great way to keep organised and use your notebooks! You can use it as a diary and to do list, and add additional pages you may require, such as budgeting or books you want to read.Look out for future bullet journalling posts!

Another use for a notebook is to use it as a brain dump, either writing down anything on your mind, or write down ideas for when your bored, or tasks that need doing at some point. I like to use my brain dump to write down a list of tasks that need doing sometime in the future, but not by a certain date, such as buying certain things for university.

You could use your notebook to journal, maybe even just a few sentences each day. I'd love to be able to commit to this, as it would be great to look back on, especially big events, such as moving away from home.

You could use your notebook for challenges, such as #RockYourHandwriting so you can improve yourself, at the same time as using up your many notebooks. I love this challenge personally, and seeing everyone's perception of the different prompts each day over on the Facebook group. You can find out more here!

Children's Books.

As part of my pre-course tasks ready for University, we have to read a number of books and poems aimed at children in key stage 2. I decided that I would share a few of these on here and my thoughts on them, to allow you to share them with family members or in the classroom.

The first book I read was Smart by Kim Slater, which you  can buy here. This was a book about a young boy called Kieran, who seeks to solve a murder crime. You follow Kieran finding out clues to the crime, and learn a lot about his life at home. In the book it does cover some controversial topics, such as drugs, swearing and abuse. There is a little swearing in the book, however, it is mostly covered with *beeps* in the text, leaving it to the imagination. I found this book easy to follow along, and very easy to read. I really enjoyed reading this book, and feel like it would be a good way to bring in topics of drugs and abuse to teach them about what they should do if they are in a similar situation. On Amazon it does have a warning for children under 10 and it should be used with adult supervision. However, I have seen on other websites children under 10 reading this book.

The next book I read was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Ronald Dahl, which you can buy here. I had already watched the film, but I have never read the book before. I really enjoyed this book, it seemed more magical than the film. It's a great way to test children's imagination and you can get lots of activities linked to the book from this. Most people will already know what the book is about, but Charlie lives with his parents and his grandparents in a small house. They don't have much money and live on very little food. Charlie desperately wants to win one of the golden tickets in one of the Wonka chocolate bars. You follow his journey to find one of these tickets, and through the factory.

These are the two books I've read so far, as I read more I will post again which books I have read and recommend them to you. I hope you enjoyed this post, and I hoped it helped someone out there!

5SOS - Girls Talk Boys

I've been listening to 5SOS for a few years now, and when I heard they were releasing a new single, and it was a part of the Ghostbusters movie, I was rather excited and couldn't wait to hear it. The day very quickly came for the song to be officially released, and boy was it worth the wait. I instantly became addicted to the song, and couldn't turn it off.

I love the way that each member of the band gets opportunity to sing and show off their talent. The song gives Luke opportunity to show off his piano skills - which has never been shown before - when he performs the song live! The band have commented that it sets the tone for their future music!

The music video finally dropped today, after us doing lots of promo on their spotify! The video features scenes from the film, and shows 5SOS attempting to catch ghosts and Michael dressing up as Stay Puft.

Download the song on Itunes here!
Watch the music video on youtube here!

Beautiful Weather & We Were Liars

We have had some beautiful weather here in the UK the past few days! The snapchat photo on the left was at 10am!! It has been lovely to have some sun, even though it did become a little uncomfortable at times. Although, it was nice to get outside and enjoy the sunshine!! I've been making the most of the weather and getting out in the garden and catching a few rays...although I'm still just as pale!

I've been doing quite a bit of reading whilst out in the garden, and I decided to start reading We Were Liars by E. Lockhart, which you can purchase here! It's about a family who go to an island each summer, and something happens that changes everything. You follow the main character in discovering what has happened and finally get to the truth in the final part. I really enjoyed this book, I read it in just over 24 hours, and I didn't want to put the book down. I love how quickly the book moves and how intense the book is. I also loved how the chapters were set out and how chapters can begin and end in the middle of the page.

SLFL Manchester M&G/Soundcheck Experience

I've transferred this over from my other blog!

SLFL Manchester, 22nd April, Night 1!

We got to the arena at around 6pm, firstly I bought my merch, I decided on the jersy world tour top, the white tour t-shirt and the pink wristband. Then we went to the guestlist box office, where we were told  to wait for Florence who would check us in and take us through to the m&g. At around 6:35pm, Florence turned up and gave us all a wristband and told us to go through the side entrance to the arena and wait in there. Around half of us went into the lift and when trying to fit all of us in the security said that the lift will break if were not careful as it breaks a lot. When at the bottom, we waited for the rest of the group to come down. We then walked through the floor section of the arena to the opposite side where we were told the rules and got into a line.
We then waited for about 20 minutes before being taken through to the corridor where the room was that we would meet them in. I think we were the 5th pair to meet them. Once I got to the door I could see Calum and Luke having their photo taken with the fans before me. I then gave my mum my bag, and told her to watch them for me. I then walked into the room and Michael said 'Hello, how are you?' and I said 'hello' to them all. I then stood in between Luke & Michael (in the middle) and I heard Luke sing something and then he said 'ahh, that was in falsetto'. We then posed for the photo, once it had been taken Michael said 'Thank you so much' to me as I walked back to my mum. My mum then dropped our bags and ran over to them for a picture with them! We then were ushered out of the room & back into the arena. We then went to our seats (Block 212, row B seats 11 & 12).
When we got to our seats Jessarae (the first opening act) was on his last song of the night. Then a few minutes after Don Broco (the second opening act) came on stage & performed their songs. About 30 minutes after Don Broco it was time for 5SOS. 5SOS were amazing as always even though Luke & Michael weren't feeling too good & their voices were a little off, they still put 100% into their performance. The #NBSRainbowProject went really well & there was lots of people with signs & having put so much effort into the project along with others, it was so nice to see it work so well.

SLFL Manchester, 23rd April, Night 2!

Night two was the night of sound check & being 5th row (Block C, row E, seats 11 & 12). We got to the arena at around 3:30pm & there was already a long queue of fans waiting for the soundcheck. We went through to the concourse where we checked in, got our wristband & lanyard, we then waited in the queue till around 4:20pm, when we all started to get let into the arena. I think I was sat 8th row in block B (middle block) for soundcheck & I had a really good view. They came out & sang catch fire, then came and sat at the end of the runway. They answered a few questions about  who would be the 5th member, writing with James Bourne, when they last cried and also what song tattoo they would get along with a few others.
They then sang wrapped around your finger & went off stage. We then were taken back onto the concourse whilst the support acts did their private soundcheck. We were let back into the arena at 6pm, the first support act came on stage at around 7:15pm, then after their performance it was the second support act. 5SOS came on stage at around 8:40pm. It was such a good show! They performed a cover of wonderwall instead of making up a song about Manchester & they nailed it! It was such a good show & it wasn't the exact same as the night before, which was nice because it makes each show individual and more exciting.

I've had such a good couple of days seeing the boys live twice, they were so good live! I would highly recommend seeing 5SOS live if you ever get the opportunity as it's such a good show & the atmosphere is amazing!

Going Live On Radio!

On Thursday night I was listening to Capital fm awaiting the opportunity to enter a competition to win concert tickets and a M&G with 5 Seconds Of Summer (5SOS). Then came 9pm, and Roman said that we had 5 minutes to text in and the winner would be selected at random. I text in on my phone & my mum from hers.

At 9:06 my phone began to ring, from a London phone number, and I began to shake. I picked up the phone 'Hello it's..... from Capital fm, you have been randomly selected to win the m&g'. We had a short conversation where I told him my name, age and that I was a big 5SOS fan. He then told me to turn the radio off and he would put me through to Roman.

Roman introduced the competition and then told me that I had to answer a trivia question. He simply said 'finish the song lyric, she looks so perfect standing there in her...' so I replied 'American apparel underwear'. He asked me again, and then told me that I had won the m&g. Yes, I know he got the lyric wrong, but in that moment I didn't care & I thought it would be rude considering he was giving me an amazing opportunity.

I was so nervous but I'm so glad I took the opportunity. I never though I would win, but for once I did. If you ever have the opportunity to enter a competition to meet your favourite artist/band etc, take the opportunity, you never know.

What's In My Bag?

There are a few things that I always have in my bag ready to use! These are my personal necessities when going out anywhere! I have a bag from Miss Selfridge that I got last year, which they no longer stock! It's a light pink and matches my purse!!!

I always have my purse with me! This one is from River Island, and it is the perfect size! It has quite a few compartments and I can fit all my cards in it! You can find this purse here! It's a really nice quality and it's a really good price for what you get!

I get quite dry lips, especially in Winter, so I like to keep a lip balm in my bag. At the moment I've been loving the Baby Lips collection. I've really been loving the dr rescue range which you can get here! It gives loads of moisture, although, personally I don't find that it lasts that long, it lasts up to 3 hours personally, but it's different for everyone!!

I like to use my phone, a lot! So I always have my phone with me, I have an Iphone 5S, with a Gabriella phone case which you can't get anymore sadly!!

I also like to take my portable charger with me! It's so handy, especially for concerts I find! I have got this one! I almost always have my charger with me, and it gets used on a regular basis at the moment!!

I hope you enjoyed this little insight into what I keep in my bag!!

I've decided to write this post so you can get to know me better and maybe discover some new things!!

Book I read lots of books, and my favourite is changing all the time! My favourite book currently is 'Girl Online' and 'Girl Online On Tour' by Zoe Sugg. I love these books! They are so relatable!! I also love 'Fangirl' by Rainbow Rowell!!

Film I'm not the kind of person who particularly watches films to be honest! But I do love 5SOS & so a 5SOS movie is a good one! 'How Did We End Up Here'.

TV Programme I do love a good TV programme. Right now I'm loving 90210!!

Food My favourite food would have to be donuts! There's no doubt about it!!!

Meal My favourite meal would have to be a roast dinner, cooked from scratch!!!

Band I have 2, either 5SOS or Union J!!

Sorry it's only a short one, I've got loads of work to do for college!!

Applying For University

Applying for University can seem like a daunting prospect, but it's really not that bad! Just start early and keep on top of the process and you will be fine!!

Personal Statement
I'd say that you should have a first draft of your personal statement done by July, and get someone to check it and make improvements. I would then be working on it bit by bit over the summer holidays and constantly improve it and get other people's opinions and advice. Most of the time then, you will be back to college and have a member of staff willing to support you through the process and be able to check your personal statement. I think I did around 20 drafts of my personal statement! During the summer holidays I looked at it over and over again finding new ways to put things and new things to add in that would support my application!

Get Experience
No matter what course you're applying for, getting experience will help you massively. I applied for teaching and as part of my college course I get experience with children aged 0-8. Alongside this I volunteered at my local Brownies to support this further! Experience will also help you fully decide if this is the career path you actually want to go down, which can be a very valuable experience. You can also begin to develop skills that you will need when you gain this job, like communicating with your colleagues or carrying our routine tasks. It will also help you when you get a job in that field of work!

I hope you found this information helpful! If you have any questions leave them below and I will get back to you! Good luck with your application!!

Revision/QTS Skills Tests

This post is mainly only useful if you want to be a teacher in the future and have to take your professional skills tests! However, I will include some general revision tips!
I'm currently studying for my QTS Skills tests and I have realised how little there is online for support and tips etc for these tests, so I thought I'd share a little knowledge with you all. I'm only sharing what I have done for any test I've had so far in my life.

1. Get a good revision guide.
When taking exams revision guides become your new best friends! Not only do they include all the information you need to learn, but they often also include helpful advice and tips for the exam and preparing for it. For my GCSEs I used the CGP books, which I can highly recommend. For my QTS revision I have been using the 'Teachers' Skills Tests for Dummies' book. It has all the information you could need, from revision tips, to showing you how to work out different questions.

2. Do practice papers.
Practice papers lets you see how much information you have taken in, and the areas that you need to improve on. I find these very useful as you can then work on the areas that you struggle with the most. You don't have to do a full paper at once, you could work through it slowly on a regular basis. However, I do recommend doing at least 1 timed paper before the exam to get used to the timing and prepare yourself better for the real exam!

3. Revision timetables.
Making timetables allows you to schedule what your doing. I found this especially useful for my GCSEs as there are so many subjects to revise for, I found myself revising for the subjects I enjoyed more than others. Timetables allow you to ensure that you revise for all of your exams regularly.

4. Find a way that suits you.
I personally find that mind maps, practice papers and reading materials helps me to learn best. However, everyone learns differently. Find a way to revise that helps you the most, this can take time but be patient, you will find a way.

5. DON'T LEAVE IT TILL LAST MINUTE!!
Make sure you start revising at least 2 months in advance. I find that starting early is best, you can then revise small amounts regularly. For my GCSEs I started revision the year before my exam. As soon as I got new notes in class I would review them at the end of the week. For my QTS skills tests I started revising in August and I am taking them February/March.

6. Take time off!
Make sure that you give yourself some time to relax! I like to make sure I have at least 1 night off a week. I also stop working at around teatime at a weekend and around 7 on a week night! Don't work late into the night, get some well-earned rest!!

Hopefully you find these  tips useful! I hope that you pass whatever exam your taking!! Good luck!!

Updated: What's in my bag?

What I put in my bag for college has changed a little since September, so I thought I'd update you all!
First thing first is makeup! I have recently started wearing make up, so that is now also taken to college! I only wear concealer and mascara, but I keep them in my college bag, you never know when you may need them!!
I also have changed my folder! I changed from a ring binder to a retractable folder. I have found that I struggle to stay organised with a ring binder so I'm trying a different method!
Another change is I now use the sprinkle of glitter diary for college, it's a great way to keep all my appointments in, however I don't use this to put my work in because I want it to be like a scrapbook of my year to look over at the end of the year!

I hope you enjoyed this post! If you've got any requests let me know below!!

My First/Last Time

I know this is an old tag, however, I though it would be a good blog post for you to get to know me a little better! I also decided to change it up a little to make it more interesting. So I decided to change it to my first/last time. Enjoy!

First/Last Concert?
I'm not 100% certain on my first concert as I have been to many, and I went to quite a few when I was younger, but some of the earlier concerts I went to are Kylie and Robbie Williams. The last concert I went to was actually An Audience with Union J, which I did a blog post on so I'm not going to go into much detail but it was a really good concert!

First/Last book I read?
The first book I read myself was probably something from Biff, Chip and Kipper which is a book series for children in the UK to support them learning to read. The last book I read is a book called 'The Gift' by Cecelia Ahern. It's a Chrismtassy book, so I would recommend reading it in December rather than June!

First/Last Day Of School?
I can't actually remember my first day of school, but I imagine it was rather nerve racking, coming to a completely new setting and having so many people there! My last day of school, was rather stressful, as I had an exam, however it was a nice way to end my schooling days as we were doing revision so it was quite chilled, and me and a few friends wandered around school getting people to sign our leaving books and seeing teachers for potentially the last time.

First/Last Blog you read?
My first blog I read was actually by Zoella (http://zoella.co.uk/) and the last blog I read was Tanya Burr (http://www.tanyaburr.co.uk/) I have read other blogs, I don't just read popualr blogs, but I do find it hard to find the time to sit and read through blog posts recently as I don't have much time to myself anymore!

Hope you enjoyed this psot! Love, Becky x

2015 Favourites

This year has been so good! So many memories were made, and I've had some amazing days and experiences!
The first favourite from 2015 is concerts! I've been lucky enough to go to four concerts this year (Ariana Grande, 5SOS, Union J X2). Each concert has been amazing and I've loved them all!

My next favourite is baths! I have rediscovered my love for baths! I tend to only have showers because of the speed, but I have really begun to enjoy baths again, and now I've got plenty of products to use in the bath since Christmas and my birthday!

Another favourite of mine is jeggings! I know I'm a little late to this party, but I finally got some jeggings this year and I live in them when I'm out and about! They are as comfy as leggings but they look just like jeans...is there anything better?

Another favourite is jewellery, I have recently started wearing jewellry. I'm starting to realise that it really makes an outfit!

I only have a few favourites this year, as I haven't really discovered many new things. But none the less, I hope you enjoyed this post! Happy new year everyone!!
